Land degradation, drought, declining soil productivity, and growing pressure on food systems are increasingly concentrated in some of the world’s most Fragile and Conflict-Affected Settings (FCAS). Many of these landscapes face severe constraints on livelihoods, water security, agricultural production, and natural resource management. They also face instability, weak institutional capacity, displacement, and constrained investment environments. These are among the places where progress towards Sustainable Development Goal commitments and Land Degradation Neutrality objectives faces the greatest challenges.
