The armed conflict in Colombia is linked with the environment, and especially with the exploitation of natural resources by armed groups in regions with an abundance of biodiversity. This situation increased the environmental injustices represented in the inequitable distribution of environmental burdens to rural communities, particularly in the case of indigenous people sand Afro-descendant communities, the lack of recognition of the violations of fundamental rights caused by the negative environmental impacts of the conflict, the absence of scenarios of participation in decision-makingp rocesses related to fighting illegal activities and the lack of access to the capabilities needed to flourish in society according to their valuable life. This situation generates challenges and opportunities in the post-conflict framework, especially in the development of the investigation and prosecution of crimes against natural resources and international humanitarian law by the Special Jurisdiction for Peace and in the substitution of illegal crops.
