Call for Abstracts and Papers: Seminar on Protection of Environment during War and Armed Conflict

The Centre for Advanced Studies in International Humanitarian Law and Military Law at the Indian Society of International Law (ISIL) is pleased to announce a call for abstracts and papers for a ONE DAY SEMINAR on "Protection of Environment During War and Armed Conflict" scheduled to be held on November 6, 2025 at ISIL.

The seminar invites researchers, academicians, professionals, policymakers, and students to
submit abstracts and research papers; broad conference themes include the following:
1. Environmsntal damage during recent international armed conflicts.
2. Environmental Impact following Armed Conflict
3. Explosive Weapons and Environmental Damage.
4. Use of Nuclear Weapons and Protection of Environment during Armed Conflict
5. Non-international Armed Conflicts and Environmental Destruction.
6. Weaponization of Environmental Information in times of 'fake news'.
7. Ecocide, Environmental Crimes under ICC.
8. Environmental Crimes and Reparation: Case Studies.
9. Armed Forces and Environmental Damage.
10. Protection of Environment under IHL: A Critical Evaluation.
11. International Law Commission's (ILC) Guidelines and ICRC's Good Practices in
Protection of Natural Environment during Armed Conflict.
12. Environment and War: Prospects for the Future

Submission Guidelines:
Abstract: Max. 300 words, to be submitted by: July 30, 2025
Acceptance Notification: August 10,2025
Full Papers: 6000-7500 words, to be submitted by: September 30, 2025
