The South Sudanese government has agreed to pay Sudan damages incurred during the 2012 war in the disputed oil rich Helgig region. ChimpReports has seen leaked minutes of the 24th to 26th June 2018 meeting between the representatives of the two governments in Khartoum. The minutes resulted to a June 26th joint communiqué signed by senior officials from the two neighboring countries, in Khartoum on 2018 assenting to nine critical areas in promoting future stability and economic viability of the two states.
