Afghanistan: 203 Mining Contracts Signed in Four Years: Taliban Ministry

The Taliban-run Ministry of Mines and Petroleum said Thursday that it has signed 203 small- and large-scale mining contracts over the past four years, with a combined value exceeding $250 million. Presenting their annual report, Taliban officials from the mines ministry said they had signed 175 small-scale mining contracts over the past four years, attracting approximately 10 billion afghanis (about $145 million).
