NoRC is seeking for consultancy services to the Detailed Design of Mini Hydropower Energy from existing piped water systems in Syria
This consultancy aims to carry out the detailed design of a pilot mini hydropower project (Western Station Al Wali Reservoir or Al Figeh). The consultancy will focus on applying both a technical and mentoring approach (Hybrid: in-country and remote) with development of the detailed design, with the aim of supporting the SARC WASH department to enhance their skills and capacities to implement similar future projects in the future.
Consultant’s profile
The Consultant (Consulting firm, multidiscipline group of consultants) shall have the following key qualifications:
- Master’s degree in engineering; Hydropower; Renewable Energy or a related field from an accredited academic institution
- A minimum of 7 years of demonstrated experience in planning, designing and implementing small-scale hydropower systems.
- Demonstrated experience in conducting engineering design, particularly focused on issues related to mini hydropower electric generation and related civil works
- Extensive knowledge of hydropower systems
- Ability to work effectively and harmoniously in a team of colleagues of varied cultural and professional backgrounds.
- Proven ability to produce quality work accurately and concisely according to set deadlines.
- Ability to prioritize and work independently
- Previous working Experience in Syria or MENA region or in protracted and/or conflict contexts with security constraints and limited access.
Bidders are expected to show evidence and experience in these kinds of assignments. In addition, the bidders are expected to submit their proposals in English. One Bidder can only send one offer.
