Founded in 1979, Action Against Hunger is an international non-governmental organization that fights hunger worldwide. Its charter of humanitarian principles – independence, neutrality, non-discrimination, free and direct access to victims, professionalism, and transparency – has formed its identity for over 40 years. Its mission is to save lives by eliminating hunger through the prevention, detection, and treatment of malnutrition, particularly during and after emergencies related to conflicts and natural disasters. Action Against Hunger coordinates its programs around seven areas of activity: Nutrition and Health - Mental Health, Psychosocial Support - Food Security and Livelihoods - Water, Sanitation and Hygiene - Advocacy - Climate - Research, Analysis and Learning. Mission:
- Under the supervision of the Country Director, your responsibilities will be as follows:
- Lead the implementation of the advocacy strategy for the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC)
- Conduct research activities in the DRC and support global advocacy on hunger and conflict
- Act as a focal point for policy and provide direct support to the Country Office
- Ensure external representation in coordination forums and advocacy working groups to integrate Action Against Hunger's positions
You will directly manage one Advocacy Officer working 50/50 with the Forum of International Non-Governmental Organizations (FONGI).

Profile:
- You hold a Master's degree in social sciences, international relations, international humanitarian law, political science, development studies, or a related field.
- You have solid and proven expertise (3 years) in humanitarian advocacy (project cycle, advocacy tools, etc.) and/or in representation, negotiation, and influencing aid policies at a high level, as well as in managing complex communication campaigns and working collaboratively with advocacy departments.
- You have successfully managed teams in diverse cultural contexts.
- Your open-mindedness, critical thinking, and flexibility allow you to grasp a wide range of complex issues and synthesize them strategically.
- You communicate effectively in both French and English, both orally and in writing. Proficiency in Swahili or Lingala is an asset.
