In Ethiopia’s Tigray-Afar border region, pressure on natural resources has grown following years of conflict. With support from PENHA, customary leaders known as Abogerebs (“fathers of the trees”) have strengthened their role in peacebuilding and environmental management by involving women and youth in their decision-making.
