Alexandra Turgul is an Instructor and Post-Doctoral researcher at Oregon State University, where she received her PhD in Geography in June 2025. Her work combines approaches from critical human geography and political ecology to understand the political processes that underpin interactions over shared water resources and identify opportunities for the transformation of seemingly intractable conflicts. Her research took a multi-scalar approach to the examination of how asymmetrical power dynamics shape transboundary water conflict and cooperation outcomes, with a focus on the Middle East. She has authored multiple journal articles and book chapters on transboundary water conflict and cooperation and has also contributed to handbooks for practitioners on water allocation and monitoring and evaluation for environmental peacebuilding.
