Dr. Liliana Pimentel is a Brazilian federal civil servant with more than 30 years of professional experience in climate change, biodiversity conservation, water resources, and environmental governance, across academia and the public, private, and third sectors. She holds degrees in Architecture and Urban Planning, Water Resources Management, Urban and Regional Planning, and a Ph.D. in Geography, with a focus on hydrology and water‑related conflict governance. A former Fulbright Hubert Humphrey Fellow (SPURS/MIT), she serves at Brazil’s Chico Mendes Institute for Biodiversity Conservation and contributes to international professional networks on water diplomacy, environmental peacebuilding, mediation, and dispute resolution.
