Dr. Emily Sample is the Director of Research, Evidence, & Learning at the Alliance for Peacebuilding. At AfP, she supports initiatives on mass atrocity, gender, the environment, and pluralism, and spearheads the Building Peace Economies at Scale initiative connecting the peacebuilding community and private sector. Previously, she worked at The Fund for Peace as a Programs Director. She earned her PhD from the Carter School at George Mason University. She co-founded the Women's Caucus of Genocide Scholars, and has spoken and published widely on topics of environmental justice and mass atrocity prevention.
