Kalani Reyes

Northern Mariana Islands

Kalani Reyes is a Micronesian-Chamorro daughter of the Marianas. Born and raised on the island of Saipan in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands or CNMI (US associated), she received her Bachelor's of Science in Integrative Biology from the University of Guam in 2021 with a focus on marine ecology, returning to the CNMI in 2022 in order to give back to the islands, ocean, and people who raised her. She has been the Coral Reef Restoration Coordinator under the Department of Lands and Natural Resources Office of the Secretary since 2023 while also volunteering in her free time with organizations as an ocean advocate and Indigenous early career ocean professional.
