Initiatives
Initiatives
In parallel with the Path to Ottawa events, the Environmental Peacebuilding Association® (EnPAx®) and partner organizations are developing series of flagship initiatives to showcase at the Fourth International Conference on Environmental Peacebuilding in Ottawa. Each initiative advances the field of environmental peacebuilding in discrete ways.
More information about the initiatives will be available here as they take form. In the meantime, if you are interested in showcasing your initiative, please contact conference@environmentalpeacebuilding.org.
-- Environmental Peacebuilding Glossary
The Glossary of Environmental Peacebuilding Terms is a collaborative initiative led by EnPAx and developed with contributions from more than 200 experts across the environmental peacebuilding field. Building on the momentum generated by the Path to the Hague initiatives and the 3rd International Conference, the Glossary includes more than 150 entries that capture the descriptive, analytical, and prescriptive vocabulary of the field. It helps to clarify widely accepted concepts and explores contested and emerging terms in environmental peacebuilding. Currently under contract as a publication through Routledge, the Glossary will serve as a shared reference point to enhance coherence, clarity, and collaboration across research, policy, and practices. The Glossary will be launched at the Fourth Conference.
-- Environmental Peacebuilding Visual Story Gallery
The Community of Practice on Environment, Climate, Conflict, and Peace (ECCP) is pulling together a visual 'Story Gallery' of the incredible work our community members do to support environmental peacebuilding efforts around the world. Through compelling photos and brief narratives, the project seeks to share powerful moments, ideas, and projects across the environmental peacebuilding landscape. These photos will be shared in an online gallery, as well as in a physical exhibition at the Fourth International Conference on Environmental Peacebuilding. To submit an idea, you can still complete this form and submit your image(s): https://forms.gle/jULvgidMYqaAznyw8.
What we're asking for:
- compelling photos (or other images) that capture powerful moments, ideas, and projects
- brief narratives to accompany each image, telling their story
- links/contacts so viewers can learn more and connect with the work
What we'll do with it:
- create an online gallery to share the stories
- host a physical exhibition at the Fourth International Conference on Environmental Peacebuilding, to take place in Ottawa, Canada, from June 16-19, 2026
- brag about you and the work you're doing!
(Note: The form requires a Google sign-in, as it involves directly uploading image files. If you are unable to access the form or would like to discuss the project further, please get in touch with project coordinator Becca Farnum via becca.environmentalpeacebuilding@gmail.com.)
