STOOS Consulting seeks Iraq-based trainers and technical experts to deliver hands-on, market-relevant training and coaching for women, youth, farmers, small businesses, VSLA groups, and TVET learners. Assignments will be delivered in Arabic (Kurdish an advantage) and tailored to governorate-specific contexts.
Description of the Tasks
- Conduct rapid needs assessments and market scans (demand, skills gaps, value chains, MSME pain points).
- Design localized curricula and toolkits (Arabic/Kurdish where relevant) using adult learning and competency-based methods.
- Deliver interactive trainings (classroom, on-the-job, mentoring clinics, simulations, practicums).
- Provide post-training coaching (business plans, pitch practice, job readiness, placement support).
- Establish/strengthen VSLAs and financial inclusion (group formation, governance, loan cycles, linkages to MFIs/banks).
- Integrate digital enablement (e-commerce, mobile money, record-keeping apps, basic cybersecurity).
- Mainstream GESI & protection (inclusive delivery, safe participation of women/youth, disability accommodation).
- Embed climate-smart and DRR elements (water-wise practices, input choices, risk mitigation for rural MSMEs).
- Implement pre/post tests, practical assessments, and light-touch MEL, capturing outcomes and lessons.
- Produce concise training reports, coaching logs, actionable recommendations, and trainee referral lists.
- Coordinate with NGOs/INGOs, chambers, TVET institutes, and private sector for internships, apprenticeships, and fairs.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Residence in Iraq; Arabic fluency (Kurdish advantage).
- Degree/TVET certification in Business/Entrepreneurship, Agriculture, Economics, Finance, TVET, Livestock, or related.
- 5+ years of proven training/facilitation and mentorship in one or more domains:
- TVET; VSLA & financial inclusion; Business & entrepreneurship; Livestock; Agriculture;
- Financial literacy; Vocational trades; Women & youth economic empowerment;
- Climate-resilient livelihoods; Cooperatives/social enterprise; Market systems/value chains;
- Digital/ICT for livelihoods; Humanitarian cash/social protection; Food security & nutrition; SME development.
- Demonstrated curriculum design, coaching, assessment, and report writing skills.
- Familiarity with donor-funded programming, private-sector engagement, and Do No Harm/safeguarding/CHS.
- Practical proficiency with Kobo/ODK, spreadsheets, and collaboration tools.
